PASSIVE MAHASATIPATTHANA

The following practice Mahasatipatthana is an exercise developed by Buddhists and borrowed by Aleister Crowley. It is primarily an observation and analysis of your own bodily movements. It is for all ......... but primarily for the "chosen ones" (Liber Al Chap 1:31) i.e those with some experience of asana, meditation, Middle Pillar, LBRP and Vel Jugorum. Mahasatipatthana translates as "steadfast mindfulness". Basically you mentally acknowledge your bodily movements whatever they may be during daily events wherever, whenever and however you are e.g. lets say your walking home from the shop with a bag of groceries; you would mentally say to yourself something like "walking and holding groceries........ (then some seconds later) looking down at pavement........ watching car drive past me..... looking at sky...... walking and scratching left ear...... looking left... crossing road...... fumbling around in back pocket...... smiling." whatever/ so on. If you are experiencing any neurotic anxieties eventually with Mahasatipatthana you should be able to shift gear from the conditioned neurotic ego to something within that is less confined/trapped. However to me this exercise in + of itself does not always stabilize any anxiety/emotional turbulence for it is only passive and I intuit that it needs to be counterbalanced with a modified active aspect. Therefore ;

MODIFIED ACTIVE MAHASATIPATTHANA

With this technique you as "the spirit" or "no self" (whatever you wish to label your trans-ego cybernetic control centre) spontaneously actively mentally command your ego-body machine to perform seemingly purposeless simple actions in everyday life.... (the irony is you becoum filled with a calming purpose) e.g. you're walking home from the shop again with groceries and mentally you say the likes of "in 5 seconds touch your ear with your right hand..... cough twice now............ look at sky now....... rub nose........ adjust your bra strap...... in 3 seconds time sniff twice......... in 10 seconds time frown......... look left" whatever/so on......... perhaps you could inject traditional magickal aspects e.g. in 3 seconds time draw a tiny pentagram with your forefinger......... or a psychick cross........ or "in 7 seconds time draw the Star of David with your thumb" etc. ensuring you dont simultaneously attract unwanted attention.
